Overlays:  Nail overlays don’t extend your nail, and involve a strong, hard-wearing acrylic or gel being applied directly onto your natural nails (does not need a fake nail) and shaped by hand to give an attractive, neat look. They are then buffed to create a glossy effect.

With acrylics, you’ll want to return to the salon in about 3-4 weeks for infills ( Infills are a way of extending the life of false nails and involve the bottom of the acrylic being filed down until it’s flush with the regrowth creating a smooth surface) or removal.

Gels on the other hand, last around 2-3 weeks.

If you have brittle or very thin nails, some suggest that overlays are the best thing that you can have on your nails. It’s a personal decision.

Nail Extensions: Nail extensions are made from lightweight plastic and are cut or filed to the natural shape of the human nail. They are applied by gluing them on to your existing nail and then overlaid with acrylic or gel to secure and finish.

Nail polish strips : These are 100% nail polish in the form of a strip. Color Street is a new company that has been growing very fast and changing how women do their nails.  Almost dry nail polish strips mean no mess, no tools, no fumes, and no drying time.

They are very affordable and come in lots of different colors, glitters, and designs.

Color Street also provides overlays but they have a bit of  a different connotation. As a nail polish strip, an overlay is usually clear with a design and it is applied over another nail polish strip giving the nail a whole new look and providing infinite possibilities from a design perspective.
